As I sat in class on Tuesday I was lost. Not by what we were talking about but who we were talking about, Vera Wang. I sat there and was thinking to my self "Who in the would is Vera Wang?" One of my classmates said that they felt everyone knew who she is. Not me. Well let me say this, I have heard the name but that's about it. As the discussion continued I learned more about Vera Wang. So I went home and did a little research on her. Wow. Her designs for her wedding gowns are gorgeous and expensive! Not only that but she has a lot going on. I asked myself why I haven't heard or paid much attention to Vera Wang. Well after looking at the prices of her designs, I think that may be it. Someone like me wouldn't look at things like that because I wouldn't be able to afford it. But I do realize now that being in this major I do need to be abreast on all designers.

your initiative in finding out more about vera wang makes me very proud of you! good work. i know her wedding gowns are expensive but you can't have cheap wedding gowns - it goes against the very definition of that moment - its a rare precious occasion - that once in a lifetime, dream come true moment and a bride wants to be dressed in something precious. something breathtaking. so expensive is a part of that whole package.

I disagree with your professor. Who is to say you have to have an expensive wedding gown? Now i am the same way i know who vera wang is, but i dont really KNOW anything about her just that she is a designer. Who is to tell you that you need an expensive wedding gown for " that moment" isnt that moment suppose to be about other reasons then how much your wedding gown was, and who it was made by? You should feel special for just being able to find that right person for you and spend the rest of your life with each other. I am married and i didnt need an expensive wedding gown. I married for other reasons. The guy i married was a dream come true and a lifetime worth waiting for. I could have been married in a 5 dollars outfit and it still would not of matter to me. Not all wedding gowns are expensive so you dont need material to change you Big Wedding day.
